Lavish were delighted this year to be invited to Download Festival to exhibit a series of Art Installations, also to add some high-octane additions to this years performance program.
Art works featured at the event included a giant iron man titled the ‘Ancestor’ by artist Andy Rawlings created from thousands of individually welded together fragments of Iron, ‘Beserk’ by Matthew Sanderson, a self portrait in the form of a crouched metal figure with spikes protruding from his back, ‘RIP VHS’ a series of gravestones made entirely from the VHS tape boxes of cult movies with an accompanying movement triggered sound & light piece staged in the woods lovingly created by artist Stuart Langley as well as a number of large inflatable eyeballs installed in selected trees - a work titled ‘Trees are people too’ by artist Luke Egan.
Program additions presented by Lavish saw packed out audiences for electrifying performances by the Circus of Horrors, Luke Fox’s Wall Of Death & also jaw dropping fights with real axes and swords by Battle Heritage wherein competing teams travelled from all over Europe to compete in live battles at Download.
Lavish are currently enjoying putting together ideas for next years event, so if you are have some work which you feel would work well at Download next year please get in touch!
